Event Direction & Strategic Leadership for Events That Matter

Many events simply can’t afford to be managed. They need to be directed.

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked at the highest level of the global events industry, creating, producing and directing close to 1,000 high‑profile live events across multiple sectors and markets worldwide. When the stakes are high, the complexity is real, and the outcome truly matters, this is where I’m brought in.

I work as an Event Director and Executive Producer, providing senior leadership, clear direction and strategic oversight. My role is to see the whole picture, create the vision, align people and purpose and ensure every decision serves the outcome with flawless delivery.

Today, I direct and produce a small number of high-impact events annually.

A stage performance with young female dancers in gold costumes, a singer in a black and gold dress, and some dancers striking various poses, with an audience seated at tables watching in a banquet hall with large screens displaying images of children in the background.

Not an Event Manager. An Event Leader.

There are many people who can run an event.

Far fewer who can lead one.

What sets me apart is not just scale of experience, but perspective. I combine:

  • Creative authority — showcraft, storytelling, audience psychology and experience design

  • Strategic discipline — structure, governance, financial modelling, KPIs and risk

I operate comfortably at boardroom level and backstage, translating vision into reality without losing intent, quality or control. I’m here to lead the work, elevate capability and set the standard.

Direction Before Delivery

Every project begins with clarity:

  • Purpose, objectives and success measures

  • Audience insight and behavioural drivers

  • Strategic, commercial and reputational considerations

Only then does creativity and execution follow. This ensures events are not just impressive, but effective, measurable and aligned to long-term outcomes.

How I Add Value

I support organisations through senior event leadership, either by directing or executive producing specific events, or stepping in as a fractional strategic leader for event portfolios and teams.

My contribution may include:

  • Event strategy, analysis and redevelopment

  • Multi‑year event and growth planning

  • Creative and experience direction

  • Program and content design to ensure clarity, momentum and audience impact

  • Production, showcraft and talent guidance to elevate the experience without compromising purpose

  • Executive-level oversight of delivery teams and suppliers

  • Financial modelling, governance and KPI accountability

  • Audience engagement, data insight and performance review

  • Mentoring and developing internal event capability

The focus is always the same: stronger direction, better decisions, and high‑performing outcomes, and happy audiences!

A Scarce Resource by Design

I deliberately limit the number of events I direct and produce each year. This allows me to stay hands-on, accountable and fully invested in every project I take on.

If your event is business‑critical, reputation‑defining or strategically important, this is not a role for compromise or chance.

Trusted Expertise

If you’re looking for someone to manage tasks, there are many options.

If you need a trusted expert to provide direction, leadership and clarity - someone who has done it before, at scale, under pressure, then this is the conversation to have.

If this matters, don’t leave it too late.
